Animal Art Exhibition
VOL.6

3 ARTISTS

Works that carefully draw out the expressions and presence of animals in each of the three artists' unique ways will be on display. One replaces bird songs with 'colors of emotion,' another carves the gaze of their beloved dog onto the canvas, and another turns the spiritual connection with animals into colors as inspiration guides them. Although their approaches are different, every painting has a presence that makes you feel as if 'that animal is right there.' It is an exhibition where you will find yourself stopping in front of each piece, completely captivated.

About the Exhibition

The 'Animal Art Exhibition' has received a great deal of positive feedback and is now celebrating its 6th installment. It began during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when human movement was restricted worldwide. As animals' ranges expanded and the balance of distance from humans shifted, it prompted us to reflect on the relationship between human and animal societies. This exhibition was planned for June, Environment Month, and specifically around June 5th, World Environment Day.

Highlights

Artists Speaking Through Animals

When people think of paintings with animal motifs, many might imagine cute illustrations or realistic biological drawings. However, this exhibition is a bit different. These artists are not just 'painting animals' but rather 'conveying something through animals.' The theme of 'Animal Art' is broad and accessible, making it inviting even for those not accustomed to art. You don't need to read difficult explanations; the familiarity of animal paintings will draw you in, and before you know it, you will be immersed in the artists' unique worldviews.

Gallery Premier

Gallery Premier, the venue for the exhibition, hosts a curated selection of high-quality works across genres including painting, sculpture, and crafts, based on the concept of 'Art in daily life.' With solo exhibitions by emerging artists from Okinawa and beyond, visitors can experience a special moment where Okinawan culture intersects with contemporary sensibilities. The appeal lies in encountering new perspectives with every visit. It is a must-visit spot for art lovers, whether you are looking for a piece to add color to your daily life or simply want to immerse yourself in art.

The various bird songs heard in nature overlap with the voices of my own generation and are expressed in my works.
